I have two questions really…
1. I have read in this site about the care of a Violet Gobe. Can someone tell me where that thread is located - the guy seemed to know a lot about taking care of them. My Violet Gobe's coloring changes. It will be light purplish blue - or light pinkish color - or he just stays gray with light pinkish gills. Which color should he be? He is about 10 inches long and eats well (blood worms and algae tablets). What concerns me is that sometimes he opens his mouth wide over and over again like he is gasping for air. He will do this for several minutes at a time. The water is brackish but maybe not brackish enough? There is a large air-stone in the tank also. Right now he is in a 30 gal tank but will be moved to a larger one as he grows.
2. The LFS gives me a gallon of premixed aquarium salt water. How much of this gallon of salt water should I add to my 30 gallon tank to get it to become brackish water?
Thanks for the help.
