forever it seem like never ending. in my case i started about dec 5 and it still has in stop the algae usually grow for about 2 weeks 2 months. Really depend on how long it takes you to cycle then you can purches some Cleaning crews. and keep the water param good. No tap, Ro even better Ro/Di
