I am using the Sea Test brand calcium test kit. And with it my calcium test at above 1000 ppm. I have to add 75 drops of the reagent to achieve the correct blue color. Can this be right?
I use Red Sea brand salt. my KH / Alkalinity is around 300 ppm and all other test come out good. PH is at 8.0-8.2
I do add some cal. about once a month. In a water change.
My Coraline algae doesnt seem to want to grow either. Can this be because of to high of Cal in the system?

That CA reading is not correct. It would be "snowing" in your tank before you could even reach that level. Invest in a Salifert test. Much more accurate. Also roughly 5ppm increments as opposed to the 50ppm red sea test do..
