Can anyone ID what this is??

Found this strange looking creature inside my freshwater planted nano shrimp tank so I removed it. It’s about an inch long and crawls on driftwood. I’ve now found another one of these! Can anyone identify what these things are? Are they harmless or dangerous?

Looks like insect larvae to me. Maybe a dragonfly.

Yes they will hunt and eat anything they can get hold of. Small fish, shrimp etc. They can live in your tank for a couple of years before maturing.

Thanks for your reply, I’m pretty sure you’re correct. I’ve already plucked out 2 of them and will closely check the tank if anymore exist.
