new saltwater tank owner FOWLR. I recently found something growing on the backside of one of my rocks. I tried desperately to take a good picture of it, but to no avail. Here is about as good a description as I can muster, it looks just like a patch of fescue grass. Green with long (1/2" "blades" for lack of a better term) from it. I would love to know what it is and if it is dangerous to my tank environment. A pic with description would be great or even a link to someting you my think this sounds like. I cant imagine it being a plant. any help will be greatly appreciated I am obviously ignorant to this subject.

OK I still have not found out exactly what I have but there is a very real possibilty that it is some sort of algea should I add some cleaners to the tank to take care of it or will it be ok anyway. I have less than 3 watts per gallon and change the water to take care of nitrates. Everything else tests 0 on the scale.

I would try to get an idea of what it is first. Not all algae is bad. Do you have a Macro setting on your cam? If so, that might help you get a better pic....

this is the best picture I could get right now if it helps
