I picked this guy up from the LFS. They didn't have a name for him but called him a "knobby star". He is supposed to be from Hawaii. I tried to show the detail of the knobs. He is rosy pink.
Can you tell me what he is? Also what does he eat? So far he must be eating algae as he hasn't helped himself to any inverts.
Any advice is welcome.

Thanks, Larry. I checked out that link and then did some more searching. I now think he is a mithrodia bradleyi - "bradley starfish". I am still trying to find out what he eats. Turns out stars vary widely - some just eat algae, others eat "meaty foods". I hope this one doesn't eat coral or my other inverts!
