The guy at my lfs told me my carbonate hardness needed to be higher, closer to 200. It's currently 9 drops - 161.1 and my PH has dropped to 7.8, I'm using the API Reef Master Test Kit. I picked up some SeaChem buffer today and added a half cap to my 10 gallon. I retested and my PH is up to 8.0 but the carbonate hardness is still 161.1. Can anybody offer some input here? I'm wanting to add a Hammer to my tank but don't want to rush it, if the tank isn't ready. Also, is there a kit I can get to measure Iodine, Magnesium, Strontium, and other important trace elements needed for some of the more delicate corals?
