Which plants make a nice carpet but do not require co2? I've read that dwarf hair grass likes co2 but what about narrow leaf micro sword?

Have you thought about Bacopa Australis?

I have had pretty good success with australis bacopa. It is a normal bunch type of plant that wants to grow upward, however, if you keep trimming it, it will go horizontal. This plant is not as demanding as the traditional ground covers that need everything to be perfect in order to look good. You may need to anchor the stems until the roots grab hold. My loaches would dig them up just to tick me off. :banghead:
