I recently got two Jacobfreibergi peacock cichlids from my roommate that were getting picked on in her tank. I've had them in my tank for two days and one of the jacobs died out of no where. After removing him from the tank, about 10 minutes later our kenyi died. the kenyi showed no signs of stress or sickness prior to the jacob dying and right before the Kenyi died it swam erratically. the kenyi wasn't picked on in our tank so it was really odd for it to die so quickly with no signs or symptoms besides the quick burst of energy then death. My first reaction was to look for white bumps or lesions on the bodies and both had no change in coloring or lesions besides the jacob having his fin tattered from being picked on. I started a treatment for the Ick but im still skeptical of what really made these fish die, or atleast what made the Kenyi die when it looked and behaved normal.
