We have this clam that came attatched to the zoa frag. We had thought it to be dead, but a couple of days ago I saw quick movement of it closing. We have carefully removed it from the frag and placed it down on our sand, it has relocated itself to a dimmer spot in the aquarium and we have seen it open slightly. Do you know what type of clam it is and what the care requirements might be? Should we try to attatch it to LR or just let it move around as it wishes?

Also, we have some white ball type sponges on LR. Since our turbo snails have been cleaning the rock we now notice some black spots....are they a type of sponge as well? Do you know what the white sponges are?

The black spots on the rock look like dark purple colonial tunicates; harmless filter feeders.

What is the second picture of, and which picture is the clam in? Sorry hard to see.

Thank you for the id of the dark purple colonial tunicates. The 2nd picture is also the same black spots in the first picture, but harder to see because the sand is also black just to the left of it.

The clam is tiny and is on the front of the zoa frag in the 3rd picture.
