Clamp LED Lights

Hey everyone, I just came across these on ebay:
48 LED White Blue Light 3 Mode Fish Tank Aquarium Clip Lamp Adjustable Soft Arm | eBay

If I got maybe 2-3 do you think they could support a reef on my 20g. It's 14" from the sand bed up.
I think it might be an interesting and beneficial experiment.

Yes, 48 three watt leds will burn most things in a small tank like that. 2 or 3 of them is way too many. I don't like the square footprint though. You'll have to hang it pretty high in order to use it effectively.

As for the first, clip on models, no- they will not support photosynthetic creatures.

I suggest a dimmable, rectangular unit.

I do see that they are .5watt LEDS but some of the reviews say they work and grow corals well.

Reviews aren't always accurate. It could be some guy with a few mushrooms. I wouldn't suggest using these. They are just for looks/ supplemental light.

Things like "my corals love them" are no indication of growth and coloration.
