Cleaner shrimp eating chiton

I just added 5 chitons to my tank and as soon as nu cleaner shrimp saw one, he flipped it over and just started eating it. I scared him away a few times but he's back just eating away. Will he eat these others? Could this one have been dead?

It was probably dead. Cleaner shrimp don't just eat live inverts...He was just being an awesome CUC member and getting rid of it as fast as possible. Were other snails or crabs going after the chiton too?

He was the only one that was eating him and I had literally just added about 80 hermits at the same time for my CUC. The chiton didn't "fold up" for protection as I read they do. So I'm guessing it was dead.
