Hi All,
I have a great sponge prefilter on my Eheim (I guess I should say that the filter is on the intake tube, and is in the tank, it is NOT the prefilter inside the Eheim.) However, it has recently become too clogged and is sucking in on itself, which reduces flow; despite the fact that I took it off last night and rinsed it out under water that was being sucked through my my Python (water from the tank.)
So I think it is time to give it a full cleaning. Would boiling it, or soaking it in anything help get it back to it's original functionality, or do I need to go out tomorrow morning and buy a new replacement?
Any thoughts on the issue would be appreciated!
