Clip-On Lamps

For my 55g, I bought 2 clip-on lamps with (2) 13 watt 6500K CFL's for growing plants. I am trying to figure out how to clamp the lamps on without risk of them falling on top...any suggestions?

hood needs to go. The clips should stabilize the lamps effectively, but play around with everything unplugged just in case.

I would imagine a shelf or other furniture near the tank could provide a good surface to clip those onto as well.
