omg
in the process of transferring the fish from my qt to my main
(and dripping the water)

I KNOCKED OVER THE BUCKET
spilling all of the water on the carpet!!!!!
acting super quick
i got all thew fish in the bucket again and quickly added about a quart of tank water
to the bucket
now dripping again (in a safe location)

question

wil this be too much of a shock to them
subjecting them to tank water at once like that?

the reason i'm doing this is
i might have to take down the tank in 2 months
and if i waited till feb 20 they would only be in there for 1 month
before i take it down

If you were transferring I assume acclimation was complete. Other than going for the ride they did not get anything different than they were destined for(main tank water). Other than temp the water should match your main(you can test to be confident) so adding them should not take another acclimation procedure.

Considering that some people just plop them in the water without acclimation, I think that they won't have a problem pulling through. I would do all I could do to keep stress down for a few days.

It's not a good thing to just pour water on them without acclimation, but it's a whole lot worse for them to be in no water at all........ :p

the acclimation was 1/2 done (30 min)
they were out for no more than 15 seconds
now after 90 min
they are in the main and seem to be ok

very scary
