Cloudy water after 75% water change help?

I changed the substrate in my tank to sand yesterday and its now a lot less cloudy than it was because the sand has settled. I did a 50% change again today which has cleared it up a bit more. The levels in the tank are -
Ammonia - 0.25pm
Nitrite -2.0ppm
pH - 7.5 (I think)

Did you wash sand out thoroughly first. Fish should be alright to put in their not as sensitive as what a lot of people think
 
Maybe your tank has gone into a mini cycle. Gravel does contain bb and you have removed all if it just a thought

Ha ha I know, that must be some pretty good gravel then ;)

If you have a lot of fish then I think it might be a bacteria bloom, it will go cloudy again then after a few days it will go clear
