I bought a 30 gallon tank so that I can combine almost everything that is in my 16gallon (over a year old) and 14 gallon tanks (over a year old). I will be transferring the LR, fish, and coral. The only thing that I won't transfer over is the sand in both tanks, but I'll be putting new sand of the same type.
My questions:
1. Will there be a cycle in the new 30gal tank even though I'll be transferring about 30+ pounds of LR from my 2 established tanks?
2. Can I put in my fish and coral right away after setting my LR in new tank?

You could have a mini cycle from disturbing your sand and rock. I have moved a few tanks and changed tanks etc and iv'e always been ok. I would suggest that you rinse your sand in your aquarium water then discard the water.

Make sure you transfer about 75% of the watrer and top the rest up with fresh saltwater. That should help with your nitrates.
