I am wanting to know if i should remove the long roots from some Crypts I got given to me they were in a 55 gal. tank for two years tall narrow flowing leaves that grow taller than the tank they were in ,they have big roots and lots of hair roots and very hard to plant ,what would be the best way to reestablish theses into our tanks http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

You can trim the roots down to around 3 inches before replanting and that also encourages new root growth. You can also seperate the one big crypt into several little plants as they pull apart quite easily.

tall crypt with lots of roots

Thank you I will want to do that as they are awfully hard to plant that long :)
