Is it true that cuttlebones will raise ph and water hardness? I recently moved and now my water isnt near what my fish are used to and I dont have access to any seashells. Does anyone know any other methods to safley raise ph and hardness?

It can a little, but if you need it raised significantly I would add some crushed coral to your filter.

+1 on the crushed coral. Also aragonite, I think, will raise pH. Cuttlebone is sometimes used for snails in lower pH water, and really doesn't do anything to the water parameters as far as I can tell.

However, unless we're talking certain cichlid species, your fish will probably adapt just fine so long as the water parameters stay constant now.
