cycling - Is this ammonia ok?

Hi, I am going to attempt fishless cycling for the first time. Is this ammonia ok? It is Great Value Ammonia from walmart. The ingredients say, Ammonium Hydroxide and Surfactant. (Contains No phosphorus.)

It does foam a little.

No, you need non Surfactant ammonia. I went through this on my last tank. I found the right stuff at Ace hardware, it is 10% janitor strength. Give me a few minutes and I will post a link for you.

From all that I read lots of people recommended it and I used it. They sell it by the bottle in the store. You should be able to find a store near you with this link also. Hope this helps.

You probaly won't need very much of it. I cycled a 120 and my bottle isn't down to the sticker yet.

Surfactant = soap
Don't use it.
You are looking for clear ammonia. bigmike75 has a good link.
Generally, if you shake it and it foams it's no good.

Congrats on getting the right stuff! I spent a week or two looking for a place without the soap in it!
