Today at 8 pm I will start fish less cycling my new 10 gallon (I ordered it online). I have read the fish less cycling article and took notes. Though I still think I am not so informed (I just don't want my fish to die, it has happened before without proper cycling). Any tips and suggestions? Thanks!

I'm not sure how true this is but was told last week that the API FW master test kit may be a little inaccurate at very low ammonia readings. This was in response to a query I had where from memory the API kit read 0.25 ammonia and another test kit was 0.

Didn't really matter for me as I'd tested the tap water here and that shows as 0 ammonia. So suggest testing your tap water as a good idea to get an idea of the base line water chemistry. Test ph straight away and then let the tap water sit in an open jar for 24hrs to de-gas, etc and re-test for ph to see if it shifts.
