Dangers of a jawfish with a DSB?

I've heard stories of jawfish or other diggers causing problems with DSB's. I wasn't too worried but recently where my blue devil damsel has been digging for pods at one certain spot and some browish diatoms have formed on the rock right besides where his kicks up sand. Should I stay away from any digging fish?

Yeah... we thought our orange spot goby was cute... until he completely decimated our pod population within a matter of weeks.
