Tonight is day 28 and I have a few ?s please. I placed a clown and damsel in the tank last saturday. They seem fine and active. Tonight I recieved my AP master test kit to avoid running to the lfs and tested for amonia,nitrite, nitrates.
The amonia and nitrites are nominal but nitrate was 10 ppm. I had a hunch I was over feeding this week and tonight cut the feeding down from 2 times a day to one. Also there is some dark brown growing on some of the rocks as you will see from pics below. I did some research and this seems common for newly cycled tanks. My cuc has not arrived yet. PH is 8.2 and Spec. Grav. is 1.023. I am trying to increase this slowly to 1.026 by water top offs.
