My turbo snails like to hang out around the top of the tank. When I did a water change the other day, one was out of the water for about 15 minutes before he detached and fell to the bottom of the tank. It died a day or two later. Is it okay for snails to be out of the water during a water change? Could this be why it died? I'm testing 0 ammonia and nitrite and 0-5 ppm nitrate.
I'm also starting to notice what I think is cyanobacteria in the tank. It's particularly heavy in the area where the snail died. Could that have something to do with it?
