Depression?

I had one of my swordtails commit suicide last night... I found him this morning when I went to feed.
Anyhow, I only had a pair, a male and a female. The widowed female now seems very depressed. I'm pretty new at this fishkeeping business, so I'm wondering if in fact she is depressed.

I don't know a lot abot swordtails, but I do believe they do better in small groups. She may be lonely.

I agree, I think its the fact that she is alone that makes her seemed depressed. I would get another female and a male, so you have a trio.

I've been doing some research on swordtails and everything I've read indicates that they are best kept in groups of at least 3. 1 male and 2 females. Apparently if you have just a pair the male will harass the female to the point of possibly stressing her. 3 females and a male would probably be better.
