Direction of Powerhead?

I have a 10 gal tank with a Rio 90....Should I aim it down at the sand, or up at the top?

It gives great flow, but I dont want to beat everything.

Are you trying to stabalize the pH or just get movement? If pH, point up for gas exchange/surface ripple. If just regular flow, maybe aim it down a little, otherwise you may get sand everywhere....

just a though...there is a orbit attachment that spins and it creates a nice changin flow...i have it on my 90 and its great

I saw something on there that you could put together to customize your flow, but I can't seem to find it now. I think it was around $50.
