Does anyone have giant danios in with their cichlids. I was at one of the LFS and the owner suggested putting some of them in the tank to ease aggression. I'm not sure on that. I really don't want to send innocent fish off to the slaughter.

Depends, What kind of cichlids do you have?

We have giant danios with our jack dempseys, we also had firemouths in that tank but moved them once they started spawning. The giant danios are faster than these types of cichlids and we haven't had any deaths.

8 mbunas, 3 yellow labs, 2 lemon drops, a blue and 2 orange. Sorry don't know the names of the last ones.

I wouldnt mix them With the mbunas, They have different water requirements.

Not to mention mbunas are faster and more aggressive then the cichlids I keep them with.

Thanks for the info. I will leave them on their own. Don't want to sacrifice the danios.

If you want, You could possibly add a couple Synodontis nigriventris and a single bristlenose pleco
