why do you need to take off all of the silicone on a part to re-seal it. like if its just a leak, cant you just put more silicone over it?

what if i dont take the old silicone off. Its only like 3 months old by the way. i just havent put water in it till now.

i would take some off and then silicone the hell out of it !! i used to buy leaking tanks and fix them !! ya dont need to get it all off just the extra on the sides of the corner !
