Do I need RO/DI

I started a 29G Oceanic nano reef and it is being cycled now. I used tap water for the first fill. I got a TDS meter today and my tap water has 11 ppm only. Is it worth the money to buy a RO/DI unit.

I'd recommend it, if it is viable economically..
Not only does it remove the potential problems of tap water or the need for a product like prime (which can equal the price of a ro/di unit yearly if bought from lfs perhaps).

But, it makes for good water to boil pasta in and to drink too

11ppm is pretty clean! I'm jealous!

More than just the TDS, have you done a full spectrum test on your tap water. I found mine to have measurable PO4 and nitrates which is why I switched to RO early on. Darn algea.

Nitrate is around 10 ppm. Did not test for PO4

You would do well to invest in an R/O.
