I was organizing my gear now that I have a nice stand with cabinets to put it in, and I found a can of freeze dried blood worms that I picked up a while back. I'm wondering if this stuff goes bad. Should I just pitch it, or is it cool to feed it? The manufacturer date on the label says 1996, and I know it wasn't that long ago when I bought it (maybe a year or so).

Just to be safe, I would say if its more than say 6 months old, I would throw it out. I don't think I would be comfortable feeding my fish anything older than that.

Unless it looks funny you could still feed it, but that would probably like throwing wood shavings into the tank for fish food. I don't think there are many vitamins, minerals etc. left.

Well, if they got all soft (humidity), if they look paler than a year ago, discoloration etc. Hence, different than they looked a year ago, when you bought them.
