Driftwood is peeling what should I do?

Does it mean it hasn't been treated right? Should I buy a new one? Will it harm the fish?

Could be just the drying before hand and soaking in your tank has loosened some. Wouldn't worry about it but would peel it off if possible just to stop loose bark floating around the tank.
