I just bought a piece of driftwood from my lfs and when I search up how to prepare it for an aquarium, I get mixed results. I guess the reason why is because most of those articles are for cleaning driftwood that was collected.

What should I do with the driftwood to prepare it for tank use?

I always boil twice and soak for 3 days. Should be good to go then! [emoji4]

Unless it is Mopani or similar heavy/dense wood it WILL float unless you boil it so it is waterlogged or you weigh it down somehow

It's pretty heavy and it sinks when submerged. So far, I've rinsed it off and brushed it to remove particles.
