Hey everyone. I have a 38g tank and a few days ago I dropped 2 pieces of raw shrimp in my tank. Its still going through the cycle, The tank has been set up coming on 2 weeks now. The water smells because of the shrimp, should I remove them or just let them completely decay and if so will my water smell get better? ph 8.2 Ammonia 0.5 ppm Nitrite 0.5ppm - 1.0ppm, Nitrate 10-20,
The other day my Ammonia level was higher.

I dosed ammonia instead of the shrimp thing, took 3 weeks to cycle with mostly base rock and sump full of live rock. You will still need an ammonia source if you take the shrimp out.

I did 1 shrimp in a 29gal, and came back after 4 days and it wreaked. I left it in anyway, and after another week it had completely decayed. Then I switched to pure ammonia cause of the stank.

Basically if you don't mind the smell, let it completely decay. o.w. switch to pure ammonia or you can even just put fish food in.
