Droppy Goldfish

My goldfish is acting very strange - its like he floats.... he just stays motionless on his side starts floating to the top... then swims to the bottom ... then does it again

What is this?

How long do feeder goldfish usually live?

sounds like he has swim bladder problems. You can try to give him some blanched peas (peeled of course) and see if it helps (in case he's just blocked up), but usually if it's the swim bladder they won't get better. I lost a goldie to swim bladder disease once.
