Dwarf Neon Rainbow behaviour

Hello -

I have a quick question about my Neon Rainbows. I had 3 in my 300 litre tank and added another 5 this morning. Since doing so one of the original females is protecting some Anubias like mad! I can't see anything for her to be protecting? Any ideas?

They probably spawned but they normally are egg scatters and dont protect them.

When adding new rainbows, they will quarrel a bit to figure out a new pecking order. I highly doubt she's protecting eggs, because like stated, they are scatterers and don't protect eggs like cichlids do.
