Does anyone else keep them, or have prior experience with them? This is my Electric, going on a few months with him.

10 gallon tank, only inhabitant aside from the snails that somehow made their way in. Upgrade to a 40 within the month after the stand is built.
30-50% water change weekly. The diet consists mainly of night crawlers and shrimp.

They can get over a foot long and need a 130-150 gallon tank, they don't do well with other fish due to the fact that they can shock them and seriously injure or kill them.

That being said, my lfs has one that is probably about 15" long in a 300 gallon tank with feeder goldfish. Not very active or attractive and needs quite a large tank with minimal tank mates, never really appealed to me but if you can care for it and like it, good on you.

I know a few people that have kept and keeping one was recommend. He's very active right now, which I'm sure is going to stop once he hits a 5 or 6" mark or something. I love the guy though. And a large tank just for him is the plan.
