So I bought an emerald crab to take care of some hair algae I had in my tank. . . Now I'm not so sure it is an emerald because it isn't green but a tan color......are there tan emerald crabs? I would post a pic bit can't figure out how to do it from my phone. I'm just wanting to be sure it won't eat my soft corals

Emerald crabs usually get lighter when they are about to molt. In my experience, usually a brownish grey color. Then after they molt they get brilliant green. Would need a pic to me sure though.

I have seen Mithrax crabs in several colors. I`ve seen green tan, brown and even white. The only way to know for sure is to post a pic.
