Hi all, I am at the unfortunate spot of having to euthanize my DG. The infection is spreading, bloat is beginning and other symptoms. I would appreciate it if anyone would offer any compassionate methods of euthanasia. Thanks

The most compassionate is a drop into near-frozen water (just above icing temperature). It should knock the fish out immediately and cease body functions. Then, place it in the freezer for a while before disposing of it.

There should be no suffering this way if you do it properly. Under the "unhealthy fish" section in these forums there's a sticky on Euthanasia that agrees. I'd recommend you give it a read and choose the way you think is best.

Sorry to hear about your sick fish. I have used Finquel and found it to be a very peaceful way to let a fish go. I keep a bottle on hand, but hope I will never have to use it.
