I have a shoal of 5 black skirt tetras in my tank, and 2 guppies.
At feeding time we use tropical pellets (from Pets at Home). Sprinkled on the top the tetras dart up for the food extremely quickly and a spray of about 15-20 pellets is usually gone within about 30 seconds!
The guppies, if they are at the surface will take some of the food, but the majority of the time the tetras are just way too quick and all the food is gone by the time the guppies even realise what's going on!
If I put more food in, the tetras just grab that too.
I've read that guppies like algae wafers, but what about the tetras? Would they just tear it apart before the guppies get near it?
