I'm thinking of setting up a small tank at my workplace. Something simple. I have a 15 gallon tank I could use and heater and filter. The tank would be lit by sunlight as there are two windows by my desk.
My question is about feeding, specifically at the weekends.
Is it ok to feed the fish for 5 days and not feed them on Saturday and Sunday or will this stress them out?

Just like you and I, fish should be fed daily.

Maybe feed them something on Friday afternoon that would stick around and net leftovers out on Monday? For otocinclus, you could use cucumber for example. This depends on the species of fish.

You could also purchase an automatic feeder, but some of these are expensive.

You could do that if you wanted to. Fish don't really have to be fed daily and many people suggest to skip a day of feeding because It helps clean out the fishes digestive system which in turn leads to healthier fish. So I think if you fed them during the week they would be fine over the weekend
