The complete liquid test kits last forever! The strip tests they do at the pet stores are only accurate if you're right on top of them and watching for yourself. Most of the time they will say you're fine with your levels and then try to sell you more fish.

How is the filter cover helping with your tank?

To be honest, before I could get out and get one. I had a huge ammonia spike and lost all but 7 of my fish. The troopers that remain are 2 dalmation mollies, 1 black sailfin molly, 2 chinese algae eaters, and 2 zebra danios.

No one has gotten caught in the filter since! I may still get one just in case but hasnt seemed necessary since then.

It seems like the tank is finally cycled and maintaining well, I think I may add a few fish this weekend just to get my current guys into schools.
