Filter Question

I have a relatively new Aquaclear 70 that has recently been making noise intermittently. I have cleaned out the impeller and it persists. I was considering just getting a Cascade canister filter as I heard they were good and quite. But before spending a hundred bucks thought I would ask here. Also, if I go the canister route, what are the benefits verses the Aquaclear? My tank is a 37 gallon tank.

if the filter is fairly new and making noise, return it or contact Hagen for warranty.

What kind of substrate do u have? If its sand it could be getting in and grinding the impeller.

IMO getting a canister filter for a 37 gallon tank is a bit overboard. I think that your filter is defective, and should be returned. Get a replacement, it should be quieter.
