I replaced one of my filter pads in my canister filter and when I turned it back on, it turned all the water in my tank pitch black. I can't see anything in the tank - even with the light on. Wtf did I do wrong? I didn't do anything different than I usually do. Will it harm my fish? An no in not using carbon so it's not that

When was the last time you cleaned it? That's the only thing I can think off from a filter that would cause it to cloud the water like that.

Apart from the pad having activated carbon on then that should've been rinsed before hand I have no idea.
