Sounds fun! Looking forward to seeing your build and your new babies [emoji4]
Eternal problems I'd love to do a large tank of SW, planted, cold water and cichlids.
Talked to the girl at the lfs and she was trying very hard to get me to take home 2 big fancy racketball sized Orandas. ?she was really rooting for the fancy GF tank. My family on the other hand would rather see a SW.
How do you do at the decision making for the actual fish you get, with there only being able to get a handful.....for a huge tank?!?!!!
Trying to think this all through to help in the decision.
What are the most important things to can share about?
That would be a tough decision. Now that I've learned so much about keeping something as delicate as a nano reef tank all the way down to a mixed tropical planted tank which pretty much took care of itself (other than water changes), I simply love my new venture into fancies. They have so much personality, but then so do SW fish IME. I cringe at the thought of the expense of a sw setup in your new tank. Also, you'd still be stuck with only being able to get a handful of fish either way you go. Sorry...I'm absolutely no help at all. It's a good thing you are being patient and giving this plenty of thought.
So bummed out [emoji17]. I lost my yellow watonai two days ago. He didn't seem to be growing like the others. Aside from that, no other symptoms. RIP little dude. The tank won't be the same without you.
Sad news Thinking of getting another?
There is no surface feeding, correct? I’m assuming that the pellets sink.
Have you tried soaking food prior to feeding? Otherwise, I have no clue. Good luck!
I guess I am not sure about the food stuff I have some Hikari Saki something written in Japanese mostly, for GF from the last CAS auction They were a steal deal.
My thought would be that the possibility of too much protein. If you stop the extra proteins for a couple weeks and (don't know about the
Rapashy S. green). \
I would imagine Hikari GF food would NOT be too much protein, since they should know how to feed the Champion Koi they have shown off in the past. But maybe the GF diet was set up to feed some veggie food in addition to it. ???
I wouldn't be the one to ask about the meds, I am still learning about that all. So sorry to hear that are not feeling in tip top shape.
Good luck with the treatment/results with the orandas. Wish I could be of help but goldfish aren't my thing.
