fish are afraid of bubbles....

My bubble stone is in the middle of my 35 gallon tank. my fish appear to be afraid of the bubble. The always seem to stick to the right of the bubble. and in the rare occasion that a big bubble comes up the fish bolt away from it..The stone is placed against the back of the tank. Should i move the stone? where should i put it? should i get rid of it all together?

Bubble stones aren't really needed so you can take it out if your fish don't like it.
