I've heard on and off about people using damsels for cycling tanks... I set mine up a couple days ago and was wondering if I could throw in a couple or maybe some chromis? Thanks!

NO. Do not put fish in until your tank has completed its cycle. Its torture for the fish and not necessary. Research a fishless cycle.

A fishless cycle will go faster and be more effective than putting in some damsels/chromis. Check this out for more info:
