I am attempting to post a video I made this morning showing my angelfish lip-locking. They are the only angelfish in the 55 gallon community tank. They were the only angelfish of their type (koi) at the normally excellent LFS, so I assumed they were a pair. I've had them about 3 months and haven't seen this behavior before. Yesterday I added a few female patties and two "mystery snails" to my tank as well as feeding the whole tank a little live food (brine shrimp fresh from the LFS). Don't know if any of that has relevance. I also did a large PWC yesterday.

Interesting title... Lip locking can be a sign of aggression, one is trying to show the other who's boss maybe. I know when my Cichlid's lip lock its not because there playing.
 
I think it's because they paired up. I think that's what they do when they find their mate. I'm not completely possitive though.
