So my wife bought me a new 29gallon a little over a week and a half ago and I tested for amonia for the first time yesterday and got a 0 reading. I thought wow I'm doing ok I am cycling with fish and feeding really light with regular 25% water changes. I did use some of the media from my wife's canister in my new AC30 HOB and I'm also running an already cycled sponge filter on the other end since it doubles as a stone as well.
The question I have is, is it normal to get no amonia reading even after a week of doing a cycle with fish? Should I keep testing for the next few weeks or is the tank even cycling?
Thanks.
