Now second week in cycle dose the ammonia two 4ppm . Six hours later nitrites high over 1 ppm off chart and nitrates 50 ppm I wait till next day nitrites 0.05 and nitrates 20 ppm but still show .25 ammonia is that normal I'm using a red sea test kit and non ammo should be yellow I'm at a light green .25 should the ammo be 0 being the nitrites are dropping out almost to 0

From what I read on this forum, yes that is norm for a new tank! Your water will spike up and than back down. Of course for a new tank .

When your cycle is finished you should be able to reduce 2ppm of ammonia to 0ppm in 24 hours.

The normal cycle is 2ppm ammo, 0 trite, 0 trate coverts to 0ppm ammo, (x)ppm Trite, (x)ppm trate.

The final conversion is 0ppm ammo, 0ppm trite, 5-20ppm trates.

If you are still seeing ammo after 24 hours, the cycle is not complete yet.

Thanks alot !!! Dosed back up to 4ppm see what happens Tommorow
