HI Everybody, I would really appreciate any help you can give me.

My daughter has saved up for her own 125litre tank which she is fishless cycling, however she is now becoming impatient and I would like to know that we are heading along the right lines.

She is able to dose up to 4ppm ammonia and have that gone by the following day, nitrites, however are not dropping and nitrates are very high. We have been at this stage for nearly 2 weeks now, hence my daughter (10 years old) becoming impatient.

Last night for example she dosed up to 4ppm ammonia, on testing tonight (API master test kit) ammonia was 0ppm, nitrite was 5ppm and nitrates are 80ppm

If anyone has any tips or advice it would be great to hear from you, she knows she has done the right thing by cycling this way, are we heading in the right direction?

You need to do a 50% water change to get the levels lower.

Make sure you dose your ammonia back up to 4ppm after the water change and use your Prime dechlorinator.

Many thanks, will do that and see what happens.
